Crossways near the village of Church Pulverbatch lies within one of the most rurally unspoilt and tranquil areas of south Shropshire.
Yet at the same time this is a perfect location for providing easy access to the historic county town of Shrewsbury, with its ancient Abbey and two famous "Welsh" and "English" Bridges, each crossing the meandering river Severn within the town.
Downstream is Ironbridge, a World Heritage Site, where Thomas Telford built his first bridge made of Iron across the river Severn at the start of the Industrial Revolution. Further on is the Severn Valley Steam Railway that provides authentic steam train services from Bridgnorth to Bewdley.
Crossways is situated on the flanks of the Long Mynd hills, which are some of the oldest pre-cambrian rocks to be found anywhere in the UK. This provides an absolutely magnificent backdrop to stunning countryside.
The area incorporating Long Mynd, Cardingmill and nearby Wenlock Edge is designated as one of Britains premiere Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is managed by the National Trust in recognition of its high value to visitors, people on walking holidays, geologists and to wildlife. Please go to our "Places to Visit" page for further information on the above mentioned and many other visitor attractions in Shropshire.
Crossways is also renound as a breeding stud for Registered Welsh Ponies within the Section A category, where a long prize wining breeding history has over the years become well established. This tradition is still maintained to the present day.
Our aim is to provide Welsh Ponies to a range of buyers wanting to purchase young broken ponies for riding, as well as supplying quality Section A breeding stock. Please see "Ponies for Sale" page for details.
Crossways also seeks to provide an opportunity for pony and horse lovers to experience a holiday in stunning unspoilt countyside with their own pony to take them exploring along the many bridleways, off road tracks and hidden country lanes.
We are therefore able offer full stabling and paddock facilities to guests staying at Crossways who wish to enhance their holiday enjoyment by bringing along their own pony or horse.
